In this video, Vastu Consultant Deepak Kumar Saini explains the common mistakes people make on rooftops while constructing houses, offices, or commercial buildings and provides solutions based on Vastu Shastra. He highlights that although the rooftop is often neglected, it plays a significant role in determining the overall energy balance of a property. Mistakes such as incorrect placement of water tanks, wrong slope directions, inappropriate storage, and installation of mobile towers can create negative effects on health, stability, and prosperity.
Right Color as per Vastu for stones and tiles
One of the first issues he addresses is the choice of tiles or stones for the roof. According to him, the safest colors to use are light and neutral tones like white, off-white, cream, beige, ivory, and green (light or dark). These colors help maintain calmness and balance, whereas overly bright or unsuitable shades can disturb the rooftop’s energy. Tiles or stones can be chosen as per one’s budget, but color selection should always align with Vastu principles.
Right Direction of the Slope
The second important point is the slope of the roof. Ideally, the slope should be from the south-west to the north-east to ensure rainwater flows toward auspicious directions. However, in large terraces where creating a full slope is not practical, at least 60–70% of the slope should be directed toward the north-east, while the rest can be adjusted toward the north or east. This balance helps maintain structural stability and positive energy flow in the building.
Right water tank placement
Water tank placement is another major area where people go wrong. Mr. Saini explains that the best direction for water tanks is the exact west of the terrace, with slight adjustments allowed to the right or left within that zone. Tanks should never be placed in the north-east, south-east, or north-west directions, as this creates imbalances. For example, placing a tank in the north-east makes this sacred zone heavy, while placing it in the south-east combines fire and water, which is considered disastrous.
Right Direction to place the leftover construction material
Another mistake is cluttering the terrace with leftover construction materials such as bricks, wood, or tiles. Storing such items in the north, east, or north-east blocks positive energy and creates dead zones. Instead, storage should be organized properly in safe zones like the north-west, west-north-west, or south-west. Building a small storage room or using racks in these directions ensures harmony while keeping the rooftop clean and functional.
He also warns against the installation of mobile towers on terraces, which many people allow for rent. These towers emit harmful radiation that can lead to severe health issues, including cancer. Mr. Saini strongly discourages this practice, urging people not to compromise long-term health for short-term financial gain.
In conclusion, the video emphasizes that the rooftop is more than just an open space; it is a vital energy zone that influences health, stability, and prosperity. By following simple Vastu guidelines choosing the right tile colors, ensuring proper slopes, placing water tanks in the west, organizing storage correctly, and avoiding harmful structures like mobile towers one can keep the rooftop balanced and full of positive energy.
