Solving Northeast Staircase Vastu Dosh

Hello, I am Vastu consultant Deepak Kumar Saini, and today we will discuss and important vastu topic that is placement of staircases as per vastu and especially in the Northeast Direction.

Why Staircases in the northeast are inauspicious

In Vastu Shastra, Northeast Direction is considered as devasthan and this representing purity, knowledge, and spiritual growth. This direction is meant to remain open and light, as it allows to flow of positive energy from the northeast to the southwest. When a staircase is built here, it natural energy flow leading to

• Mental stress and health problems
• Financial stability
• Disturbed peace and harmony

Other Prohibited Zone

• Core Northeast (Ishan Kona): Avoid any permanent or heavy structure here.
• Brahmasthan (center of the house): Staircases in this zone are considered extremely inauspicious and should be strictly avoided.

Remedies for Existing Northeast Staircase

If a staircase already exists in the Northeast:

1. Pyramid Remedy:
   • Dig a 1-foot-deep pit below the staircase.
   • Place a ply board with 9 white plastic pyramids fixed in a 3×3 grid.
   • Cover it with clean sand.
     This helps restore and circulate positive energy.
2. Use of Colors:
   Opt for white, cream, off-white, pistachio, green, or light blue
   Avoid red, pink, brown, orange, or copper tones as they belong to the fire element.
3. Avoid Clutter:
   Keep the area under the staircase clean and empty.
   Never use it for storage, dustbins, grains, or worship.
4. Crystal Energy:
   Hang a genuine crystal ball (not glass) in this area to enhance positivity.

If Staircase Placement is Unavoidable

If space or design constraints make it compulsory to have a staircase in the Northeast:

• Use a wooden staircase instead of concrete (RCC).
• Keep the structure lightweight to reduce the impact on the energy flow.
